Wagstaff Piling was contracted to design and construct the piled foundations required for the Southern Terminal Expansion project at Gold Coast Airport. The expansion was required to accommodate a new international terminal and extend the existing domestic passenger capacity. Wagstaff Piling was selected for the works as a result of its in-house design capabilities, extensive fleet of piling equipment, experience in working within the airside requirements of operating airports and in-house pile testing services to provide the quality assurance for the project. The Wagstaff Piling designed foundation solution for the project included CFA piles of 600mm, 750mm, 900mm and 1050mm diameter and equipment on-site included a Soilmec SR-75 and Llamada P-240TT.
