RETROFITTED SEISMIC FOUNDATIONS AT MONASH UNIVERSITY
An innovative foundation solution and an economical design alternative by Wagstaff Piling for micropiles designed for earthquake loads is being constructed at Monash University No. 4 Carpark to allow for the facility to be extended by 2 additional floors whilst remaining fully operational. The building had been designed to the previous earthquake code and in order to extend the building the foundations had to be upgraded to meet the new code requirements. The piles are being built in limited access conditions with restricted vertical and horizontal access through the existing carpark foundation pile caps.
Wagstaff prides itself on its team work and innovative staff who work together to solve problems large and small.
